ADAPT partners with Oide (and previously the Junior Cycle for Teachers unit) in the Department of Education and Skills to co-develop and deliver a series of interdisciplinary workshops for teachers on responsible research and innovation.
ADAPT’s workshops attract teachers from diverse subject areas who are interested in considering AI and its societal challenges and implications in their classrooms so that students will have a better understanding of the role of AI in their lives.
2023 Workshops
Chatbots – What, how and if Chatbots can aid teaching and communication in learning?
More than fifty teachers from a variety of subjects joined Artificial Intelligence experts from ADAPT for a new workshop in February 2023. The workshop examined Conversational Agents such as Chatbots, which simulate human conversation. Chatbots are used in many areas, for example online customer service and healthcare, but what are the future possibilities for Chatbot use in education? Teachers discovered how Chatbots work, the challenges involved and where the technology can be useful to teachers.
