ADAPT academic Dympna O’Sullivan participated in the Safer Internet Training Day organised by Webwise Ireland at the Dublin Google offices. This event brought together 100 teenagers from various regions of Ireland to delve into the societal implications of emerging technologies, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Webwise, the Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre, operates with funding from the Department of Education and co-funding from the European Commission. Dedicated to promoting safer and improved internet usage, Webwise conducts awareness-raising and educational initiatives aimed at teachers, children, young individuals, and parents. The Safer Internet Training Day is one such initiative fostering a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by the ever-evolving digital landscape among today’s youth.
