The Bigger Picture: Reimagining AI Imagery Exhibition Dublin

The image shows two blurred figures walking past framed abstract art on a gallery wall, suggesting movement and a dynamic environment. The focus is on the text "The Bigger Picture" which is prominently displayed in the center, overlaid with a colorful grid of red, orange, purple, green, and blue squares. In the middle, there is a clack and white image featuring a grid of 35 square tiles with blue, pink, burgundy and orange figures inside the tiles interacting with dark green letters of the phrase "Hi, I am AI” set against a yellow background. The figures are positioned in various poses, as if they are climbing, pushing, or leaning on the letters.

The current images associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) rely heavily on science fiction clichés like glowing circuits, futuristic robots, and complex digital networks. While these visuals can be eye-catching, they are also misleading, making AI seem like a distant fantasy rather than showing its real impact on society, creativity, and daily life.

The Bigger Picture is an exhibition that challenges these outdated tropes and offers a more grounded, realistic portrayal of AI. A collection of images that move beyond the realm of sci-fi, to explore AI’s actual presence in everyday life. The exhibition reflects how AI quietly, but powerfully, shapes our world, focusing on the potential of this technology, while also exploring the ethical challenges, and societal implications.

Open: 1 – 17 November (closed Mondays)

Location: The Digital Hub, Thomas Street, Dublin 8

The Bigger Picture invites curious minds to engage with AI in ways that are meaningful and insightful. Through fresh perspectives and thought-provoking visuals, The Bigger Picture seeks to transform how we perceive and understand Artificial Intelligence — not as a distant, futuristic concept, but as an integral part of the world we live in today.

This image shows an individual with orange hair interacting with a large, abstract digital mirrored structure. The structure is composed of squares in varying shades of green, orange, white, and black which are pieced together to reflect the individual’s figure. The figure's hand is extended as if pointing to or interacting with the mirrored structure. Behind the structure are streams of binary code (0s and 1s) in orange, flowing towards the digital grid.
