Professor Declan O’Sullivan (ADAPT, Trinity College Dublin) has been awarded the prestigious ‘Excellence in Supervision of Research Students’ award at a ceremony held this week at Trinity College Dublin. The award recognises outstanding supervisors from each faculty who go above and beyond to support the academic growth and wellbeing of their students.
This accolade highlights Professor O’Sullivan’s exceptional dedication to fostering student success in research. To be considered for the award, supervisors must demonstrate excellence in developing students’ research skills, promoting innovation, and encouraging critical thinking about the societal impact of their work. Additionally, recipients are recognised for guiding doctoral students in effectively disseminating their research findings.
Professor O’Sullivan, a leading figure in the School of Computer Science and Statistics, has made significant contributions to academic leadership at Trinity College Dublin. As a Principal Investigator at the ADAPT Centre and co-champion of the Trinity Digital Engagement interdisciplinary theme, he has also consistently supported the next generation of researchers.
