The 7th annual ACM Lifelog Search Challenge (LSC’24) took place this month during the ACM ICMR 2024 conference in Thailand. Organised by Prof. Cathal Gurrin, Deputy Director of ADAPT, along with colleagues from Austria, Norway, Iceland, the Czech Republic, and the UK, LSC’24 attracted 21 participating teams from around the world. These teams came together to compare the performance of their state-of-the-art interactive lifelog retrieval systems in front of a live audience, making for an exciting and challenging event.
The winning system this year was the lifeXplore system from Klagenfurt University (Austria), marking their second consecutive victory in this challenge. lifeXplore’s success underscores its advanced capabilities and the team’s consistent excellence in the field. The previous winner of the LSC was the MySceal system, developed by Ly Duyen Tran, an ADAPT postdoctoral researcher.
