ML Dublin, the monthly machine learning meetup group, held their first meet up of the year this week in Trinity College Dublin commemorating its eighth anniversary. The event saw one of the first speakers at the 2016 launch, Dr Chris Hokamp, return to present. Dr Hokamp, Principal Scientist at Quantexa, introduced members of two teams focused on applied machine learning and AI at Quantexa; the analytical innovation team, which focuses on graph ML, and the NLP team focused on natural language processing.
Lead Data Scientist at Quantexa, Aaron Zolnai-Lucas, explored the topic of “Practical ML for real-word Knowledge Graphs”. Dr Hokamp and Shashank Mangla, Lead Data Scientist, Quantexa, jointly discussed the topic “Fine-Tuning LLMs for Open-Forum Relation Classification. The event also featured a presentation from ADAPT Trinity College Dublin PhD Researcher, Delaram Golpayegani, who discussed the EU AI Act and legal compliance using semantic web.
ML Dublin MeetUps occur on the last Monday of every month and are open to professionals and students passionate about machine learning. These gatherings feature presentations by expert guest speakers on diverse topics, offering an excellent opportunity for networking with like-minded individuals, researchers, and engineers from both industry and academia.
