An ADAPT-supported student group formed from DCU’s Data Protection and Privacy: Law and Computing course have recently won the Best Student Paper Award at the 15th International Conference on Health Informatics (HEALTHINF/BIOSTEC). Their winning paper was titled ‘Best Practice in Multi-organisation Sensitive Health Data Sharing: A Comparative Analysis of Ireland’s Data Governance Approach for the Covid–19 Data’.
The group, consisting of Aleksandra Czarnik, Aoife Darragh, Maria Hurley, Daniel O’Connell, Michele Quagliata and Professor of Data Protection and Privacy, Rob Brennan, were supported by the SFI ADAPT Centre for AI-Driven Digital Content Technology. Their course, the MA in Data Protection and Privacy: Law and Computing, aims to combine DCU’s expertise in law and computing to provide students with advanced expertise in the technological and legal aspects of data protection and privacy law.
