A research paper by ADAPT PhD student Yasufumi Moriya with Professor Gareth Jones has been accepted for presentation at the 2022 IEEE Spoken Language Technology Workshop (SLT 2022. The event took place this week, 9th – 12th January 2023, at Doha, Qatar. The paper is entitled “Improving Noise Robustness for Spoken Content Retrieval using semi-supervised ASR and N-best transcripts for BERT-based ranking models” and examines novel methods for the use of neural ranking models for search of spoken content archives.
The SLT Workshop is a flagship event of IEEE Speech and Language Processing Technical Committee. The workshop is held every two years and has a tradition of bringing together researchers from academia and industry in an intimate and collegial setting to discuss problems of common interest in automatic speech recognition and understanding.
The focus of this SLT workshop will be ‘Languages of the World’ and will feature a half-day meeting to build and grow speech and language communities around the world.
