Background

The use of generative AI in research management was a key area of interest identified at the recent Irish ARMAA workshop hosted by Teagasc. In response to this, the ADAPT and AMBER Research Development Teams have organised a workshop on using Generative AI in Research Management.

The emergence and popularity of generative AI models such as ChatGPT have the potential to empower research managers by automating manual and time consuming tasks. However, there is a lack of clarity on the ethical uses of these tools and guidance on how to use them without unwittingly jeopardising intellectual property, privacy and succumbing to the inherent biases of these models.

This workshop will showcase the wider landscape and ethical considerations, user accountability, appropriate use and examples on how to utilise these tools for research management purposes.
