On March 6, 2025, the ADAPT Centre and the Insight Centre hosted a special event in Dublin City University in honour of International Women’s Day 2025, bringing together scholars and professionals to discuss the power of collaboration and career development.
Professor Jennifer Keating of the University of Pittsburgh delivered a thought-provoking talk titled The Art of Building Meaningful Collaborations: Interpersonally and Across Disciplines. She explored the importance of forging impactful connections across academic fields, professional sectors, and personal networks, emphasising how interdisciplinary cooperation can drive innovation and meaningful change.
The event also featured Dr. Suzanne Little, a professor in DCU’s School of Computing and a Research Ireland Principal Investigator at Insight, the Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics. In her talk, What Does It Mean to ‘Postdoc’? Reflecting on Different Experiences and Opportunities, she provided insights into the diverse experiences of postdoctoral researchers and the various career pathways available to them.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional networks over lunch. The event fostered valuable connections among members of both the ADAPT and the Insight research community and beyond, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration that International Women’s Day seeks to celebrate.
