The next Creating Tomorrow’s World webinar of 2022 will take place on the 29th of April at 10am.
The event will focus on Precision ALS, a ground-breaking new academic, clinical and industry research programme that will provide new insights in our understanding of Motor Neuron Disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
The last two years have proved that digital technology is a critical enabler of all aspects of society, including healthcare. Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming digital healthcare, leading to exciting opportunities for screening, decision making support, disease treatment and personalised or ‘precision’ medicine delivery.
Speakers at this event will cover three areas relating to the project and will examine the challenges and opportunities related to the clinical, industrial and data management areas.
The first speaker will be Director of the Precision ALS research programme and Professor of Neurology at TCD, Professor Orla Hardiman. She is Co-Chair of both ENCALS & TRICALS, is Editor in Chief of the journal Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and the Frontotemporal Degenerations, and has received a number of awards for her work in the area.
The next will be Dr. Bronagh Hayden, Medical Lead & Associate Director at Biogen Ireland, who combine cutting-edge science and medicine to discover, develop and deliver innovative therapies for people living with serious neurological and neurodegenerative diseases.
Finally, Senior Lecturer at TU Dublin & Funded Investigator at Adapt, Dr. Robert Ross will join the conversation to give insight into a data-driven perspective of precision medicine on a programme like PrecisionALS.
