Dr Mani Dhingra, a researcher at the ADAPT Centre in Maynooth University, is featured in TechCentral for her work on leveraging artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies to address urban challenges and design smarter, more resilient cities.
Dr Dhingra is working with Dublin City Council on the Smart Dublin initiative. A key aspect of her work involves using AI and digital twins to develop high-impact, data-driven solutions for Dublin. Examples include supporting emergency response and pre-incident planning for Dublin Fire Brigade; assessing the impact of new active travel infrastructure along the Clontarf to city centre corridor; and visualising past and future planning proposals within the Dublin Docklands to guide decision-making.
Through trialling and evaluating these technologies, Dr. Dhingra’s research contributes to building coherent, sustainable implementation strategies for smart cities.
