ADAPT contributed to the recent EBN Techcamp 2024, which took place from November 19 to 21 at the Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC) in Dublin. This event, hosted by EBN in collaboration with Furthr, brought together key stakeholders from across Europe’s innovation ecosystem, including incubators, accelerators, and business support organisations.
ADAPT’s research was the focus of a session during the Techcamp featuring talks by Professor Dave Lewis and Dr Delaram Golpayegani on AI risks and regulation. This was followed by a panel discussion with Conor McNally and Olivia Waters on building AI into processes and workflows. The discussion focused on the implications of the EU AI Act for businesses, addressing topics such as regulatory compliance, ethical considerations, and balancing innovation with human rights protections. This panel offered practical insights for organizsations navigating AI adoption in the context of evolving European regulations.
ADAPT’s participation reflected its ongoing collaboration with Furthr, which plays a central role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Ireland. By engaging with the broader European innovation ecosystem at Techcamp, ADAPT strengthened its connections with EU|BICs, investors, and other innovation-driven organisations.
The event, themed “Transform, Innovate, Accelerate,” explored digital transformation’s role in reshaping industries such as healthcare, green energy, and aviation. Through expert-led workshops and networking opportunities, ADAPT contributed to discussions on aligning research with industry needs while learning from peers across Europe.
