Dublin, 5th April 2023: Recently, Research.com announced the 9th edition of their rankings of the best scholars in the area of Computer Science featuring four ADAPT Academics across two partner institutions. Research.com’s Best Researchers ranking is composed of leading Computer Science scientists and created using a thorough examination of 166,880 researchers determined from multiple bibliometric data sources. According to Research.com, as many as 14402 researchers were examined for the area of Computer Science. Featuring on this list were the following ADAPT Academics:
ADAPT Academic Prof. Peter Corcoran was nationally ranked as number 1 across Ireland with an impressive world ranking of 427. Prof. Corcoran is an ADAPT Principal Investigator (PI) based in National University of Ireland Galway and specialises in Edge-AI & Computer Vision.
ADAPT’s Prof. Gareth Jones joins the list with a national ranking of 11 across Ireland and with a world ranking of 4046. Prof. Jones is a PI with the ADAPT Centre at Dublin City University. His research focuses on topics related to information retrieval and search technologies.
Prof. Andy Way nationally ranked at number 19 across Ireland with a world ranking of 6133. Prof. Way’s (Dublin City University) research interests include all areas of Machine Translation including, but not limited to, statistical MT, example-based MT, neural MT, rule-based MT, hybrid models of MT, MT evaluation and teaching MT.
Finally, ADAPT at Dublin City University academic Prof. Cathal Gurrin nationally ranked at number 38 across Ireland with a world ranking of 10187. Associate Professor Cathal Gurrin is the head of ADAPT at DCU and the Deputy Head of the School of Computing at DCU. Gurrin’s research focuses on using deep user profiles to develop assistive technologies using wearable sensors and data analytics.
