ADAPT provides opportunities for the public to explore and interact with emerging technologies, so as to understand and have an informed voice on the impact of such technologies on our lives and our wider society.
ADAPT offers free modular workshop programmes designed to empower and embolden students and teachers as scientific citizens who can understand, evaluate and have a voice on the role of emerging STEM innovations in our lives. The workshops form part of ADAPT’s #DiscussAI initiative, which has engaged 67,000 members of the Irish public in learning, conversations and reflection on the role of AI in our lives. The below programmes emphasise the privacy and ethical implications of AI, therefore cutting across the primary and secondary school curricula. Teachers don’t need any prior knowledge of AI in order to deliver these programmes. The course toolkits provide background information on each of the modules, and our Education and Public Engagement team is at hand to help. We can arrange for an AI Ambassador to visit your school if you’d like in-person support.
AI in My life is a modular workshop series on AI, ethics and privacy for Transition Year students.
ADAPT collaborates with strategic partners, including Oide, to deliver cross-curricular professional learning opportunities on technology and ethics for second-level teachers.
Technology in My Life enables primary school teachers to bring their students on a journey exploring the ethical use of technology in their lives.
