Dr Marta Lasek-Markey holds a PhD and an LL.M. degree from Trinity College Dublin and a master’s degree in law from the University of Warsaw, Poland. Prior to joining ADAPT, she was adjunct assistant professor and postdoctoral researcher in the TCD School of Law. Her current postdoctoral project, developed with Prof Linda Hogan, focuses on the interaction between AI regulation and fundamental rights. In 2023, Marta was the recipient of the Brian Bercusson Award for outstanding research in EU law presented by the European Trade Union Institute. This was awarded for her doctoral research, funded by the Irish Research Council, which was a sociolegal study on the posting of workers in the EU. Marta has published her research in academic journals, including the Industrial Law Journal, the European Law Review and the European Law Journal (forthcoming). She is the author of a monograph titled “Law, Precarious Labour and Posted Workers. A Sociolegal Study on Posted Work in the EU” (Routledge, 2023).
