Alok is a PhD student at the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin. He works under Prof Owen Conlan on developing virtual agents of the future, especially on making dialogue interfaces generate more human-like responses by creating a scalable representation of concepts such as empathy and reasoning. Previously, he worked in natural language processing, on semantic representations, event analysis, social media analysis, and syntactic representation for low-resource languages.
