ADAPT fosters researcher development and career advancement in various ways. We host a number of prestigious fellowship schemes (EDGE, ELITE-S, Human+)) bringing the best international talent to work at ADAPT and providing support, mentorship and training to accelerate careers.
ADAPT has hosted over 50 Research Fellows who have secured funding through both national and international funding programmes including Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions and Irish Research Council schemes.
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) offer a range of opportunities for researchers at all career stages to either apply for their own individual funding or to join an existing large-scale programme funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. These actions provide opportunities to researchers of any nationality to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research and innovation in Europe (EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries) and beyond.
Covering salary, mobility and research expenses for researchers to acquire advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility, all areas of research are covered by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, including STEM subjects and the social sciences, humanities and economic sciences. The return and (re)integration of European researchers from outside Europe and those who have previously worked here, as well as researchers displaced by conflict outside the EU and Horizon Europe Associated Countries, is also encouraged.
Experienced Researchers (PhD holders or those with four years of research experience) can apply for their own Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual funding via the Individual Fellowships (IF) scheme. An annual call for Individual Fellowships closes in September each year. Alternatively, researchers can also apply for a personal fellowship from one of ADAPT’s Training Networks or COFUND projects.
All Fellows will be fully integrated into the vibrant research environment within the ADAPT Centre and into their individual Principal Investigator’s research group and offered extensive career development training as part of their Fellowship.
Please note that certain eligibility criteria apply to MSCA schemes in relation to mobility and experience post-PhD and the relevant guide for applicants and terms and conditions should be read.
