The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City AI Challenge attracted over 3,000 participants from across Southeast Asia, a record-breaking turnout for the event. Co-chaired by ADAPT’s Deputy Director, Professor Cathal Gurrin of DCU, the event drew 50 university and 23 high school teams, all gathering in Vietnam to showcase fresh talent and technical skill.
This year’s challenge centered on AI-powered video search engines designed for Vietnamese TV news, tapping into an area of growing importance for the region’s media industry. ADAPT, a long standing supporter since the challenge’s inception in 2020, is already looking ahead to next year’s event, with a continued commitment to foster innovation and support future talent in Vietnam’s developing AI landscape.
