Call for Submissions: The Bigger Picture – Re-imagining AI Images

Applications are now open for The Bigger Picture, a new exhibition series designed to challenge common perceptions of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Artists are invited to submit works that engage with the theme “AI is Everywhere”, focusing on the everyday presence of AI without relying on common sci-fi tropes or using AI-generation technologies.

The Bigger Picture exhibition series seeks to create a new collection of images inspired by insights from AI and creativity workshops held in Cork and Dublin. Topics such as the everyday uses of AI, how AI is inherently human, and explaining the complex nature of AI will guide artists in visualising the role AI plays in society.

The submission deadline is 20 October 2024, at 5 p.m and invites submissions from professional artists and student contributors. Selected works will be featured in exhibitions in Cork and Dublin during Science Week 2024. There is also the opportunity for artworks to be included in the Better Images of AI library under Creative Commons.
