ADAPT academic P.J. Wall, alongside co-authors Deepak Saxena (Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur) and Suzana Brown (State University of New York, Korea), has recently been recognised by Wiley and the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries (EJISDC) for their paper, “The Role of Information and Communications Technology in Refugee Entrepreneurship: A Critical Realist Case Study.” This paper was among the top-cited in the journal for 2022-23.
Their research explores how technology can enhance entrepreneurial activities among refugees at the Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi, and identifies both the opportunities and challenges that refugee entrepreneurs face in this setting. The findings present a novel framework for policy interventions, offering valuable insights into the specific circumstances, types of technology, and methods of leveraging them to support technology-enabled innovation and entrepreneurship.
