Huawei recently hosted a Global Software Technology Summit in Dublin, a two-day event dedicated to the latest research and developments in Artificial Intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies. Professor John D. Kelleher, Director of ADAPT, delivered a compelling presentation on ‘Neural Translation of Natural Language Business Queries to SQL’.
The summit gathered a diverse group of attendees, including professors, experts from Huawei’s global partners, and employees from Huawei Ireland, fostering a collaborative environment for sharing insights and advancements.
Huawei has a significant presence in Ireland, celebrating 20 years of operation this year. Back in 2004, during the early days of the telecoms industry’s transition from 3G, Huawei entered the Irish market by selling mobile dongles. Today, the company’s products and services reach approximately 3.5 million people and businesses across the country. The vibrant innovation ecosystem in Ireland, with hubs of expertise such as ADAPT, was a crucial factor in Huawei’s decision to establish an R&D lab in Dublin, highlighting the country’s role as an attractive location for technological innovation and research.
