TRANSMIXR recently featured at the FMX – Film & Media Exchange Conference held in Stuttgart, Germany, as ADAPT FI Dr. Niall Murray, the project’s co-ordinator and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer & Software Engineering at the Technological University of the Shannon, participated in the EU XR panel discussion, exploring the current landscape of XR innovation.
The panel brought together representatives from various EU-funded projects, including PANEURAMA, MAX-R, EMIL, XRECO, and TRANSMIXR, to shed light on collaborative efforts shaping the future of XR and its transformative potential across diverse technologies and industries. Accompanying Niall Murray were Dr. Anne Bajart, Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission; Sara Coppola-Nicholson, Head of Research Programme at Disguise; Chris Ebeling from Beyond Horizons; and Marcus Korhonen, Operative Director at Aalto University; Nicolas Patz, Project Manager at Deutsche Welle.
TRANSMIXR is a Horizon Europe project led by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and led by Dr. Niall Murray of TUS and investigator in the SFI ADAPT Centre. The project is a collaborative effort of 22 partners from 12 countries with expertise in European research, media and innovation programs, in-depth knowledge of AI and XR and their application to the media sector. Partners also include representatives of key European application domains including News Media and Broadcast, Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts.
