The Digital Ireland Conference, a prestigious one-day event that serves as a platform for government, industry, and academia to convene and exchange perspectives on digital advancements both within the EU and globally, recently took place on the 18th April in Dublin Castle. Opening this year’s conference was Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Peter Burke. He was joined by Minister of State, Dara Calleary, who closed the proceedings.
Prof. Jane Suiter, an ADAPT PI (previously of PROVENANCE) and Professor at the School of Communications, Dublin City University, served as the moderator for the first panel titled “Digital Regulation – from negotiation to implementation”. The discussions revolved around global digital advancements and the implementation of digital regulations. She was joined by John Evans, Digital Services Commissioner, Digital Services Coordinator; Daniel Enke, Director of Public Affairs & Corporate Citizenship, Zalando; Russ Grandinetti, Senior VIce President, International Stores, Amazon; and Rena Maycock, Founder and CEO of Cilter.
The second panel focused on Artificial Intelligence and the opportunities emerging from digital transformation. Dr. Patricia Scanlon, Chair of the AI Advisory Council and Ireland’s AI Ambassador, as well as a member of ADAPT’s Industry Advisory Board, led this panel discussion.
