The inaugural blog post of LegumeLegacy, a doctoral network supported by the EU Horizon-MSCA-DN-2021 program, has been released, featuring updates from the project’s postdoctoral researchers. Participation in a Doctoral Network funded by MSCA necessitates international mobility, requiring researchers to relocate to a new country for their PhD tenure. Most researchers on the project commenced their PhDs between August and November 2023. This post presents an opportunity to reflect on their experiences thus far, particularly regarding the challenges and rewards of relocating to a foreign country.
The LegumeLegacy consortium comprises of 21 Principal Investigators (PIs), 11 doctoral researchers (DRs), and a project manager. Collaboratively, the team endeavors to optimise the multiple benefits of grass, legume, and herb mixtures in crop rotations, with the overarching goal of mitigating the adverse environmental impacts of contemporary agricultural practices.
