Maja graduated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, and continued her studies at the RWTH Aachen, Germany, where she obtained her PhD with the thesis “Machine Translation: Statistical Approach with Additional Linguistic Knowledge”. Her research interests include machine translation, multilingual NLP, human and automatic evaluation methods for NLP. She has worked on several industry projects with Microsoft, Linkedin, Optum, dealing with machine translation for different domains, reducing gender bias in NLP, and multilingual text classification.
