The ADAPT led SignON Consortium held their second face-to-face meeting in Deaf Village Ireland on the 22nd and 23rd of February. This meeting covered the progress of the project to date and the challenges that it has faced so far. It included an open panel discussion held by Dr. Elizabeth Matthews (DCU) along with Caro Brosens (Linguist at Vlassms GebarentaalCentrum Vzw), Karim Dahdah VRT, Mark Wheatley (President European Union of the Deaf).
SignON is a user-centric and community-driven project that aims to facilitate the exchange of information among Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing individuals across Europe, targeting the Irish, British, Dutch, Flemish and Spanish sign as well as the English, Irish, Dutch and Spanish spoken languages.
