The ADAPT Centre for Digital Content Technology celebrated the first anniversary of the successful monthly Machine Learning Meetups. The event, which drew a large crowd, was sponsored by Huawei Technologies and held in the Trinity Innovation Academy on College Green. Since its inaugural event in January 2016, the Machine Learning Meetup has grown to over 1700 members and has been sponsored by a wide range of leading international technology companies including Microsoft, brite:bill, Deutsche Bank and Nitro.
To celebrate the occasion ADAPT Centre deputy director Professor Andy Way gave a talk on ‘Trends and fads in technology’ and Vice President at Deutsche Bank Stephen Redmond spoke on ‘Wrangling the Right Data’.
Machine Learning (ML) is technology of growing importance and has been named by Gartner as one of the top tech trends for 2017. It includes technologies such as natural-language processing, neural networks and deep learning. With world leading expertise in all areas of intelligent systems, the ADAPT Centre has been leading on the creation of more intelligent programs and devices that can augment our interaction with technologies.
