More than 2,600 secondary school students have signed up already for ADAPT’s All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO). Now Ireland’s largest Science Olympiad, AILO aims to enhance students’ problem-solving skills and identify Ireland’s top young problem solvers. Don’t miss out! Sign up before 20th January 2017 at www.adaptcentre.ie/ailo

AILO challenges students to decode the world’s toughest problems in logic, language and linguistics. No prior knowledge of linguistics or foreign languages is required, as students instead must rely on their lateral thinking skills to unlock complex problems in unfamiliar languages. Why not test your mind with sample puzzles available on the AILO website.

The top eight performers at the national final in March will win the opportunity to represent Ireland at the International Linguistics Olympiad 2017 on home turf next summer. ADAPT will host more than 180 competitors from 35+ nations from 31st July to 4th August 2017 at Dublin City University. The Olympiad will culminate in a Problem-Solving Family Day on 5th August at Dublin Castle.

AILO is a key element of ADAPT’s Problem-Solving Initiative (www.problemsolving.ie), a Government-backed drive to foster the next generation of skilled problem solvers for Ireland. ADAPT is currently inviting sponsors for this ambitious initiative.
